Our team
The Proud, the Few, the 402
History
402 XC and Track began with its first cross country season in 2016. We started small with nine runners and a vision to train kids who wanted to work hard and compete. After that first season we slowly expanded our running family, attracting kids and adults who share our passion for the sport. Now only a few years later, that first group of runners includes athletes who have competed successfully in high school and at the collegiate level.
philosophy
The mission of 402 XC & Track is to build athletes who lead the way with grit, a strong spirit of competition, and a desire to discover their limits and push beyond them to accomplish their goals.
We work hard at every practice because running is hard. Competitive running is mentally and physically demanding, but when a runner meets or exceeds those demands the results show. The athlete learns that they are capable of more than they thought and are not willing to settle for less, not just in cross country or track, but in any endeavor they decide to pursue.
Coaches work with every athlete to set goals, whether it’s improving times to running further than ever before. The ultimate goals are to prepare our youth to compete at the high school level and to help them rise to any challenge in front of them.
