Our coaches

mike bickley

Mike Bickley has been running since the fourth grade.  He is a 3-time Nebraska State medalist, a USATF 3200m National Title holder in the youth division, and he ran in the Prefontaine Memorial 10k receiving 1st place in his age group and 10th place overall.

Mike coaches because he believes in keeping running relevant.  He also believes that running prepares you for life.  By putting the work in you can achieve the results you want.

Mike hopes his athletes learn how to work hard and push past their limits both physical and mental.

Mike's favorite running shoe is Saucony.

Adam Osher

Adam started running in high school. He enjoys running road races and has run several marathons and half-marathons, but his favorite distance is the 5k.

Adam coaches because he enjoys seeing kids succeed. Running lets you compete individually or as a team and lets you compete against others or yourself.  Running is inclusive to all competitors regardless of ability.

Adam likes to see athletes try their best and encourage others and know that hard work will always pay off in the end.

Adam’s favorite running shoe is Asics Gel-Kayano.

Rebekah wall

Rebekah Wall started running in high school.  She enjoys running 5k and 10k road races with the team.

Rebekah coaches because the athletes on the team are an inspiration.  She enjoys being a part of this team of kids who never quit.  Through sun, rain and snow they are determined to improve.

Rebekah hopes the athletes learn to push themselves and for them to know that their hard work will always pay off.  She also hopes they learn the value of being on a team and how to be a positive role model for their teammates.

Rebekah's favorite running shoe is Brooks Adrenaline.

Wade Lanum

Wade began running long distance after college. After getting a track coaching job where he was going to have to coach long distance runners, he figured the best way to learn to train was to do it himself. He runs the occasional 5K and has run the Omaha Running Club "Magnet" twice.

As a high school athlete Coach Lanum threw the shot put and discus and was a sprinter. He ran in the Nebraska State Track Meet, played on two state qualifying football teams, and won two state powerlifting championships. Coach Lanum went on to play football at Midland Lutheran College (now Midland University)

Coach Lanum has been coaching middle and high school athletes for over 20 years. He has coached every track event at some point in his career. Coach Lanum loves the never quit attitude of 402 athletes and looks forward to working with the throwers on the team.

Coach Lanum coaches because he enjoys helping athletes reach their fullest potential.

Coach Lanum's favorite training shoe is the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus.

Christine Tomcak

Christine started running in middle school and continued into high school.  She enjoys running now in a few organized races up to the half marathon distance, but most of her running time is spent on the trails with her dogs.

Christine enjoys working with the kids to see their abilities improve and confidence grow.  It's a joy to see them overcome hurdles and achieve - whether it be new PRs, ability to run a greater distance, determination to tackle that big hill, or confidence to participate in a race.

Christine hopes the kids learn that they can push themselves to be their best and make lots of friends along the way.

Christine's favorite running shoe is Brooks Adrenaline.
